From November 18 to 29, the Interregional Maritime Safety Institute – ISMI had the pleasure of hosting an enriching training in collaboration with the GoGIN 2 project. Intended for centers in the ECOWAS Commission region, this initiative brought together 24 trainees from 8 countries, all united by a common objective: improving the processing of maritime information and the conduct of operations at sea.
Under the direction of Olivier Bichon, expert on the GoGIN 2 project, and Denilson Brito YARIS trainer, from the multinational center of zone G of architecture in Yaoundé, participants had the opportunity to familiarize themselves with the new version of YARIS.
This training enabled them to acquire essential skills, including the configuration of automated maritime images according to specific criteria to extract useful information, the analysis of behaviors of interest in the maritime context, and the effective sharing of information maritime between the different actors to name just a few.
This training represents a significant step forward in regional cooperation for the management of maritime operations as negotiations are underway for the transfer of ownership of the system to the region.
